Privacy policy

Last updated 2 November 2026. This policy explains how XtraHustle handles personal information under POPIA.

1. Who we are

XtraHustle is an employment and services marketplace operating in South Africa. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"), XtraHustle is the responsible party for the personal information processed through this platform. Contact us at info@xtrahustle.com or 084 023 8544.

2. Information we collect

Account details (name, display name, mobile number, optional email address, location and account roles); profile content you choose to publish (occupations, skills, experience, qualifications, portfolio and photographs); CVs and documents you upload; job applications and service requests; quotations, bookings and messages; reviews you write; payment references and promotion records; and technical information needed to operate and secure the platform.

3. Why we process it

To create and secure your account; to publish vacancies, service offers and requests you choose to publish; to match jobseekers with vacancies and providers with customers; to deliver notifications you have asked for; to process payments and activate paid placements; to prevent fraud and abuse; to comply with legal obligations; and to improve the platform.

4. What is public and what is private

Job adverts, company profiles, service-provider profiles and public reviews are visible to visitors. Your mobile number, email address, CV and private conversations are never shown publicly. They are shared only with the employer, provider or customer involved in a specific application, request or booking, or where you choose to share them.

5. Sharing

We share personal information only with the parties you interact with, with our hosting and payment providers who process it on our instructions, and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.

6. Retention and security

Information is retained while your account is active and for as long as needed to meet legal, tax and dispute-resolution obligations. Access is role-based, sensitive documents are stored privately, and administrative access is logged.

7. Your rights

You may request access to your personal information, request correction or deletion, object to processing, withdraw consent for optional communications, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. You can edit your profile and delete your account from your dashboard, or contact us to exercise any right.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. Any analytics or advertising cookies are disclosed in the cookie banner and only set after you consent.

9. Marketing and notifications

Job-match and service notifications are sent only according to the preferences you set. You can pause alerts, change frequency or switch to a daily or weekly summary at any time in your dashboard.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the platform grows. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where required, by notification.
